When people ask me what I do, I always say that I’m a blogger. Cue a blank stare and some less-than-covert eye rolling…
Despite the explosion of the internet quite some time ago, blogging, influencing, vlogging and all of these types of careers are still very much considered to be a “new” type of career, if people even can wrap their head around it being one in the first place.
But it is and I am.
I started this blog on maternity leave and now (at the time of writing approximately two years later) it is my job and provides me with an income.
But I want to point out at this juncture that I am not just fortunate or lucky to be able to sit and work at home in my unicorn pj’s or that I have the flexibility to do the school run or that I only really answer to myself and my bank manager. Nope. It’s not luck you see, it’s just really hard work and a dogged determination to do whatever it takes to live my life and career on my own terms. And two years of HARD work. Whoah, I know – I went down the CAPS LOCK route but I just want to emphasise that right from the beginning. It is a lot of work.
So if you have landed here looking for a way to start your blog then you will find, in amongst the mum stuff, helpful tips and tricks to push you along the route to becoming a full time blogger and making a decent income doing something you (hopefully) love.
If you are new to blogging and wanting to give it a go, then I suggest browsing a few of these topics below and then keeping an eye out for the bi-weekly ‘how-to’ posts that come out.
