Everdine Review

What do you eat when you are at work?

For me, lunch in the workplace tends to be one of two options – either it’s a rubbish, soggy sandwich cobbled together as a last minute thought from home OR it’s an expensive takeout option, probably of an unhealthy nature (ie chips). As in all aspects of my life I am constantly pressed for time and if I’m honest, by the time I’ve got two children out of the door in the morning, my lunch is the absolute last thing on my mind. I know I should practice what I preach and prep my meals the night before but when I’ve made everyone else’s packed lunches, put the kids to bed and finished my work, I basically can’t be bothered.

I’m not really one for diets but eating as clean as possible is a tried and tested method of eating for me. I absolutely don’t stick to it rigidly but when I start feeling my jeans pinching at my love handles or my energy levels crash and consistently burn, I know that cleaning up my diet can only help. I’m not here to lecture anyone on how to eat but clean eating really does make me feel much happier and healthier in the long run.

This is pretty much where I’m at right now but faffing about in the kitchen steaming broccoli and poaching chicken is out of the question. It is just not going to happen.

Anyway, I had a good look around to see whether there were any clean eating meal services that wouldn’t  break the bank and would deliver outside of the M25 and I came across EverDine. EverDine are a company that create clean, healthy meals and then deliver them frozen to your door. You pop them into the microwave for anywhere between 8-10 minutes (just enough time to annoy your colleagues who are queuing to heat up their soup) and hey presto, you have a guilt-free, delicious, hot meal for lunch.

Clean eating absolutely does not equal boring (in this case at least). For example this last week I ate:

Coconut chicken katsu

BBQ pulled pork with Boston beans

Chilli con carne with brown rice

Falafel shawarma

Singapore noodles

These meals are anything but boring!

Whilst I can say that all the meals were delicious, my favourite meal was the coconut chicken katsu.
My least favourite was probably the falafel shawarma but it was still decent. There is such a wide selection on the website that there is bound to be something for most people on the menu.

All the ingredients looked and tasted of a high standard and just writing this post is making me hungry! I also really like that they literally come with everything you see in the images – so you don’t have to go scurrying about looking for broccoli at the bottom of your fridge to complete the meal for example.

Everdine offer 8 meals for £35. That’s just over £4 per meal – about the same as I fork out for takeout food in the canteen at work.  I don’t know about you but I would far rather eat these fresh, healthy and wholesome  meals any day of the week than the standard canteen, plastic jacket potato, pie or chips.

They smell incredible too – so the best part is you get to eat it at your desk and waft the goodness around your colleagues with just a tiny touch of smug with your clean eating habits and full belly.

For me, these meals are the perfect solution to keeping my diet nice and clean whilst I’m busy at work. I am a massive fan of delivery services as you know if you read my blog, so I am happy to report that this is a really good one.

If you are looking to clean up your eating habits then I would definitely recommend having a look at the EverDine website for more information and a full menu plan.
