For The Love Of Blog #21

Hello and welcome to week 21 of for the love of blog. For those of you who don’t know, this is the weekly linky that I run with Claire from The Pramshed blog. It runs Saturday 08:00 through until Monday 22:00 or until we hit 75 entries.
This week we have been hit by the dreaded Autumn germs. I know so many of you have been suffering with those pesky back to school germs and you have all my sympathy. Sophie has been really unwell, poor baba. It’s difficult being up all night with a baby who won’t be pacified and then running on no sleep during the day but the worst part is not being able to make her feel better. We are into day four of the plague and no sign of improvement yet. I love Autumn but these germs really need to do one! If you have poorly little people in your house then I’m wishing you all a speedy recovery.
It’s been a weird week. We are just starting to redecorate the house and we started with the carpets in the hallways and the lounge. This meant we had to squeeze all of the furniture and ‘stuff’ from the lounge into the dining room for a day or so whilst the new carpets were laid down. Living in chaos just about sums it up this week. Anyway, we now have lovely new carpets and I’m really thrilled with them. We now need to choose new sofa’s but I think that can be next week’s job!
If you have children in Year 6, you will know that the deadline for applying for high schools is fast approaching. This week we have been to a few open evenings and we have finally chosen a school. As a strict Catholic school, there is stiff competition for places so I’m keeping everything crossed that we get Zak in. Sitting in the school hall, listening to the headmaster give a talk about how quickly high school flies by made me feel really emotional. I can so vividly remember being a new year 7 pupil and hearing the same talk. It felt like I blinked and high school was over and now it’s almost the turn of my boy. Kids seem to grow up so quickly from when they hit high school and I am just not ready to let him go.
Blogging-wise, it has been another busy week. You may have noticed that I have given A Mum Track Mind a bit of a facelift and re-brand. This was prompted by a few of the things I learned at the BlogOn conference in Manchester last Sunday. It was a brilliant day and I picked up so many helpful tips and tricks to make this blog a little bit more user friendly. So what do you guys think?
Campaigns have been steadily coming in this week and it’s been one of my busiest blogging weeks. I can’t share the details yet as I’m not allowed to disclose but I will let you in on it as soon as I can! A few months ago, when I was a fledging blogger, I used to dream of opening my emails and having brands contact me to work together. Now that it’s a daily occurrence, I am turning down 90% of the work I’m offered. If you are new to blogging and wondering whether it will ever happen to you, then be reassured it will happen! Just keep plugging away at creating great content and staying true to  your own blogging style.

On to Linky business now:

This week I’m linking up the second interview from The Ambition Series – this week with Vicki from Honest Mum. It was a real pleasure to interview her and I think you may be surprised at what she had to say. My second post is all about re-fuelling your body after working out. I’m sharing my perfect post-workout, protein smoothie.
Thank you to everyone who linked up again with us last week. So many great posts to choose from as always! My featured blogger this week is Jane who writes at Maflingo. Jane has been supporting the #bloggersbeatingcancer campaign that you may have seen running all over Twitter. In this moving and rather raw post, she shares her story with cancer. It’s beautifully worded and reminds us all why helping to fight against this cruel disease is so important. Thanks for sharing your story with us Jane.

Aw, I feel so honoured you chose me as featured blogger amongst all of the fantastic posts last week. It’s been a big day, what with Islandliving365 and mumzilla reaching their £1000 goal for #bloggersbeatingcancer (or as I accidently put in one of the many, many comments I shared today, #bloggersbeatingcoffee!!!) SO to find out my post has been selected! Wow!

Emma at islandliving365 wrote a post today with links to all of the bloggers who shared their stories today so I would encourage people to read them and also, if they haven’t done so already, to give!

Thanks again, Fi! It was so lovely to hang out with you at Blogon last week!

Wow that’s fantastic they did so well! All the LOL’s about your hashtag though – sometimes the fingers just take over don’t they. So so many times I’ve typed #fortheloveofDOGS instead of #fortheloveofBLOG!! Not quite where I’m aiming but it has had some responses from the Paul O’Grady fans haha. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely post xx
