This Mother’s Day I am dragging the celebrations out for a whole weekend instead of the usual 24 hours and I’m not a bit ashamed. We will be spending Saturday cooking up a big family lunch at our house (Shaun is doing the cooking!) and then on Mother’s Day itself, we are out for brunch and then cosying up at home for the day.
And that’s what it is all about for me – just time off from the usual chores and drudgery but with lots of uninterrupted time with the family. Mother’s Day is absolutely not about the gift giving and to be honest I have never really bothered about receiving a gift or not but I do absolutely love it when the kids make a card or a little gift themselves – that’s always super sweet, don’t you think?
Giving gifts however is a different story…I really love to pick out a thoughtful gift for my own mother and mother in law and I love to see their faces light up. I think the nicest part is that they never expect anything so it’s always a lovely surprise.
Handmade gifts are big news this year and I think giving a gift that’s handmade adds a little extra special touch. Knowing the background, design, care and thought that has gone into the gift you give is just such a lovely feeling and really helps you to select the right gift for the right person.
I’ve recently discovered that Amazon have a handmade section of their website called Handmade at Amazon, which was a bit of a surprise if I’m honest. I’m a big fan of Amazon and buy so much from them due to the convenience and super quick postage turnaround, so to combine this with the handmade touch is a real gem of an idea.

There are some really cute gifts! I love the coffee mug with “I Love You” at the bottom and the necklace is really cute too!

Great gift ideas, I liked the matching aprons. I would probably combine it with flowers which are a timeless gift!
Oh what wonderful ideas for Mothers Day. Thanks for sharing.
these are great! so adorable. & those grey prints are perfect for my friends nursery! soon a mom-to-be!
Great ideas for Mother’s Day. I don’t care about the gifts so much as I just want to be with my kids. That is the best gift. And no cooking.
I don’t need the gifts either. Nor the breakfast in bed. I do really like the handmade cards my little ones give me though. Hek if my husband could make a craft with my kids that would be awesome. Maybe I’ll help them make one for me. I don’t need store bought. I do like that cutting board that a cute fun saying and the necklace is nice too.
I am loving all these gifts. The apron is so adorable. I love it:)
These are cute ideas and not too expensive. That apron looks pretty as well. No Momma will reject it 🙂
Perfect timing on these! I’m currently working on a list of items I’d like to get the moms in my life.
These are all such lovely ideas. I am not a fan of personalised gifts, but for Mother’s Day they are perfect, as they show in a different way how much she is loved. Especially that these gifts are hand made as well.
These are great Mother’s day gift ideas! I miss my Mom! I used to enjoy giving her gifts too and seeing her face light up when she opens them. But it’s quite impossible now that I’m a thousand miles away. I will try to make it up to her when I see her this summer though! 🙂
Great gift ideas. I can’t believe Mother’s day is already just around the corner.
I love these gifts. I would love each one!
Oh I love the scrabble frame! We have a couple like that which a friend bought for the girls when they were born, its such a fab idea!
I think I like that last framed one the most. It’s super cute and original!
Those are really beautiful gifts. Would love to have them.
