As I write this I am so.freaking.sore. Seriously – just ouch. My thighs and bum feel like they’ve done ten rounds with Mike Tyson (do people even say this anymore?!) after I switched up my exercise routine this week. Well, in fact my personal trainer switched it up whilst I moaned vociferously about not being ready for heavier weights. Seems like my thighs agree with me.
I’ve been whinging a lot about this recently, especially over on my Instagram stories and yes, I know it is self inflicted. Worth it though.
Since I’ve switched up my spinning routine for weight training (its less scary than it sounds) I have noticed a huge difference in my body tone and shape. There is now definition where there was once only doughnuts and there is a firmness to the underside of my arms where just a few weeks ago there was only wobble. Slowly, my body is starting to piece itself back together with a lot of focus and dedication on my part. The best part is that people are starting to notice and that is always a good feeling.
Truthfully though, I am not really there yet with my body transformation but I have my ‘before’ photos stored and ready for use should I decide that I have reached this mythical goal. I want to get to a place where I feel really strong and a place where I know that I have incorporated fitness into my life permanently rather than just using it as a weapon against bikini season. I think body image has been such a struggle of mine that it will likely be several more months before I reach that place but I’m ok with that I think.
However, one of the things I am doing already is making use of some really hard-working products that both pamper and restore my achy-breaky body back to its usual state. Daily workouts, endless toddler taming and full days on my feet (it’s not unusual to clock up 15,000 steps on my Fitbit) are par for the course but at the end of them, it’s my time. Time to run a bath, read a book, maybe have a cheeky glass of wine and really relax.
There are some seriously luxe go-to products on my bathroom cabinets these days, along with a plastic Minion toy and two yellow ducks… Mum life is all about the glam hey.
Anyway basq NYC’s cooling body bliss gel is one such lush product. I’m pretty sure that up North we don’t use the word “lush” but whatever. This soothing gel, does exactly what it says on the tube – it cools and soothes, revives and refreshes those achy legs and swollen feet after a long day chasing toddlers around.
I think that this would be an excellent product if you were pregnant too but I’m not so don’t get excited about another addition to the northern clan just yet (or ever). Retailing at £20.00 – this beauty product aint all that cheap. It has a cult following of all the coolest ‘slebs – including Hilaria Baldwin, Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, Whitney Port , Melissa George and Alyssa Milano. If it’s good enough for Lara Croft.. I mean, how much more of an incentive do you need to try it out?!
Fortunately for you I have some to giveaway to one lucky reader. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the giveaway below, keep your fingers crossed and basq NYC will be in touch with the winner in 14 days!
Good luck lovely people
