Toddler Spring Fashion with Monsoon at Debenhams

Monsoon has always been that one brand that I have always loved and lusted after, even way before I was thinking of teeny, tiny girls clothes. They make the most perfect occasion dresses for women and have seen me through many a fancy awards do, wedding and christening so I guess I already knew they’d be my go-to brand of choice for those extra special occasion dresses for my daughter too.

Recently I was approached by Debenhams who are now stocking the Monsoon range in store and they asked if we would like to try out some of their new Spring Girl’s range. Obviously I bit their hand off and here we are.

First of all, I’d like to say I was right – they DO make the most beautiful occasion-wear for little girls and when we finally get around to booking our wedding, I know where I will be coming for the bridesmaid dress of dreams. However, what I hadn’t really appreciated, was that they also have a whole line of stunning day dresses and outfits as well.

Monsoon Baby Lolly Disco Dress

With the sweetest broderie capped sleeves, shimmery waist and a full netted skirt with underlay, this is without a doubt our favourite in the collection as it’s so pretty but also wearable for the daytime. She of course, adored the embellished sequinned lollies on the skirt as well.

This dress is available from 0-3 months up to 2-3 years. Sophie is wearing age 2-3 and I would say it is maybe a bit big still but as she usually wears 18-24 months old, I’d say it was probably a dress true to size. This one is also machine washable, although with the embellishment on it – I will be using a delicate or hand wash cycle I think!

Baby Ginger 2 in 1 dress

This dress has definite Joules vibes with it’s pastel blues and painted illustrations of Notting Hill’s colourful houses on the skirt.¬†Made with soft cotton, it features a striped body with a floral applique and a long skirt with a netted-edge lining.

The long sleeves definitely give it British Spring time vibes – you know what the weather is like here! I generally find longer sleeves to be much more practical at this in-between time of year.

This is also a machine washable dress and of all three, this looked the most comfortable.

Again this dress comes in sizes from 0-3 months – 2-3 years and we have it in age 2-3. This dress is massive however so I would definitely size down if you are buying this one.

Beatrice Bee Dress

The dress of dreams?! Yes, I think so!

I could honestly imagine Princess Charlotte in something like this – it just has that totally traditional, classic and timeless baby girl style going on but unfortunately for us, we have to size down again as this one is also cut big.

Frilly shoulders, satin bow belt, puffed skirt with a netted lining and the prettiest floral pattern – this is definitely one for a party or occasion. This one has a concealed zip at the back too – a much easier solution than fiddly buttons when wrangling a toddler! Such a beautiful dress that we cannot wait to wear!

I would style all three of these dresses with white frilly socks and a classic pair of cream t-bar shoes.

A big thank you to Debenhams for sending us these beautiful dresses to try out. If you would like more information or to see the full Monsoon at Debenhams collections you can visit their website.

Debenhams gave me £100 to spend on the Monsoon Spring range for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
