How We Do Christmas – A Mum Track Mind Styleee

Here we are with the annual and obligatory Christmas Tag that passes around the world. If Christmas is your thing and you want to find out how it goes down in Casa del Fi then this one’s for you. If you can’t be arsed reading through it all then just simply watch my quick and festive vloggers tag below.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

The Santa Claus movie or Love Actually or Sleepless in Seattle. Yes! Sleepless in Seattle! Or The Holiday…argh I don’t know!!

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Yes! I think it was 2009 when we had all that snow wasn’t it? Everything came to an absolute halt and we went sledging on the hills at the back of our house. Brilliant! I think there was one year when we lived up near Aberdeen too.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At Shaun’s parents house. His mum makes the most gorgeous feast of a Christmas dinner with turkey AND beef and we stuff our faces full. In the evening we all play traditional games like cards and carpet boules – it sounds boring but it’s actually really fun.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

The Pogues or John Lennon’s song. I can’t remember the name of either of them but I could sing them for you (badly) if you like?

The John Lennon one always makes me cry. It also makes me think of the Wombles. Random but true.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

What?! No! Who does that???

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Without googling? Lets see…. Rudolph (obvs), Dancer, Prancer, Donda, Vixen…Arrow?? Might have made that last one up. Christmas fail but as I didn’t celebrate Christmas as a child I think you should let me off.

Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

This year I will be taking Sophie to open presents with my mum, sister and niece on Christmas morning. A new tradition for this year and one that I hope will stick around.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

It’s fake. With pre-lit lights and glitter. I’m not even sorry. Get a pre-lit tree – it will change your life. Aint nobody got time for pine needles and a bum-shuffling baby menace!

What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?

The greedy girl in me finds this so difficult to narrow down. I think if push comes to shove then I’d go for pigs in blankets. Mmmm so good. Nobody ever makes enough though. I want them all.

Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?

Honestly giving. I bet everyone says that but I’m just like my mum in this. We both get so much joy from choosing gifts for other people. In all honesty I always feel a little bit awkward when unwrapping my own stuff. Greatful obvs but awkward nonetheless. Especially when you know what it is. What is the point of that?

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

My breasts. Seriously. Amaazing. Deal with it haha.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I think Lapland has to be up there in the number one spot doesn’t it? I’m determined to get there one day but have you seen the cost?! More than new boobs!

Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

I’m shocking. Shaun always has to step in and help. Life is too short for this kind of thing to worry me though.

Most memorable Christmas moment?

The time I was SURE Shaun was going to propose and that my present was a ring. It was the most enormous box and each time I opened it there was a smaller box inside – a bit like Russian dolls y’know? Turned out when I got to the last one that it was a CD of some greatest hits of something or other. I could have killed him and every time someone plays the CD in my car I remember it. Fortunately we laugh about it now because he did actually stump up the diamond shaped goods one day.

What made you realise the truth about Santa?

I’ve always known. See here.

What makes the holidays special for you?

The fact that everybody in my family takes time off work, school, football, commitments etc and comes together to just be together.

And eating. Alll the eating. Actually put that bit first.

So that’s it folks. I hope you enjoyed reading / watching a little bit more about my Christmas. Let me know what your favourite things about Christmas are too? I’m always on the hunt for new festive traditions to add to our own.

I’m tagging the following awesome bloggers / blogs so go ahead and check out their festive plans:

Ouch, I hope you made him suffer for that for a while, I’d be sooo annoyed with Jack if he tricked me into thinking he was going to propose haha. I REALLY want a prelit Christmas tree (a hugeee one), would save so much time. Thanks for the tag, I’ve popped mine up today 🙂 xx
